@phillycodehound @molly0xfff USians have gone completely bonkers. Once upon a time they would have loved street libraries.

Help me pick my next read.
Or dont.
IDGAF.
I gave up on Fortune Falls because book 1 was communalist survivalism & book 2 is " oh btw yall get Super Soldier Serum " out of literally nowhere.
So yeah, a paradigm shift of that magnitude is jumping the shark for me.
So with that in mind..what is next?

The books on my e-reader are old too, because I get them from Project Gutenberg; they have hundreds of classic sci-fi tales and mystery stories.
I made a new super cute bookplate sticker from my little painting of a fox reading! These paper stickers are 3 x 4 inches in size and come in packs of 10, perfect for labeling the books in your personal library! Find them at http://albaillustration.etsy.com
Finished reading "A System for Writing" by @bobdoto (yes, I'm a very slow reader...). My first impression was confirmed by the rest of the book, which is very well written and devised. I learned quite a bit from the book, and it definitely renewed my interest in the Zettelkasten method.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in PKM in general, the Zettelkasten method in particular, and/or writing which is supported by the use of a Zettelkasten.
Hat tip to @writingslowly for pointing me to the book via his review!
@pluralistic I’m reading chapter 12 of Chokepoint Capitalism and it’s really sad to see how we are very far away from fair antitrust policies, especially now with an oligarchical government run by the Big Tech. It’s somehow disheartening.

@jonobie It's not a page count, it's a timer; if I've been "reading" a book for pleasure but not actually choosing it to read when I have a chance, and a couple days go by without any progress, I'm going to call it a loss, even if I'm past half-way. I don't need more chores. #bookstodon #reading
Abandoning books: What percentage of a book do you read before deciding it's not for you and moving on to something else?
kind of a bummer to DNF a book I’d really been looking forward to (Children of Time), but life’s too short to read books you don’t want to read
I recently finished the Hyperion Cantos series and I've been thinking about some of the ideas... Notably what happens at the end of the second book and how I see it as a metaphor to what some of us in the fediverse and indieweb are trying to do in terms of tech and healing that part of our society. I'm going to try to write a blog post or maybe do a video talking about it. I just hope it's intelligible to others.
